Why:                The Florida Traffic and Bicycle Safety Education Program (FTBSEP) is a statewide, comprehensive training program, funded by the FDOT Safety Office, which teaches individuals how to be more competent and safer pedestrians and bicyclists. In addition to training individuals, the FTBSEP uses a train-the-trainer model to teach training workshop participants how to teach and lead pedestrian/bicycle safety education initiatives in their area. Participants will be certified to fit bicycle helmets which will allow them to order free helmets from the Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Resource Center. Additionally, participants will be able to check out the bike trailers to use for events.

  • On-bike practical skills
